The Sounds of San Donato: Radio Symphony Orchestra (2019)

The Sounds of San Donato: Radio Symphony Orchestra is a three-movement work for flute, cello, guitar, drums, and modular synthesizer. It was performed as a live installation with multi-channel audio transmitted to 42 radios. The piece was based on interviews with residents of San Donato, a neighborhood in Florence, Italy. Their voices were processed to create percussive sounds and harmonies.

The Sounds of San Donato premiered February 22, 2019 at Piazza San Donato, spazio XL in Florence, Italy. It was also broadcast on Radia Show 371. The Sounds of San Donato was commissioned by Radio Papesse and was supported by Lighton International Artists Exchange.
